Sausages With Caramelised Onions

It was a home alone weekend, And I usually get irritated to cook when am all alone. Well was in a mood to have sausages !! So thought will have some english ishtyle food for dinner 😛 . All I need to do was pick some sausages from the supermarket while coming back from work.

Quite and easy recipe, and very simple. Just needs some basic ingredients from your kitchen shelves, oh yeah ! Except the sausages, I know not all store sausages at home all the while 🙂


  • Onions – 2 medium (sliced thinly)
  • Sausages – 4 large (I used pork, however you can use any of your choice)
  • Oyster sauce – 1 tsp
  • Pepper powder – 2 tsp
  • Salt – 1 tsp (Sausages contain salt, so I didnt add more)
  • Oil – 2 tsp + to fry sausages
  • Sugar – 2 tsp
  • Soya sauce : 1 tsp


  • Put slits on the sausages and set aside.
  • Heat little oil in a pan, and fry the sausages on a low heat till they are golden brown on all sides. Drain on an absorbent paper
  • Heat 2 tsp of oil in another pan, and saute onions till their slightly translucent, Now add the sugar and toss well till you get a nice golden and caramel color on the onions.
  • Mix in the oyster sauce, soya sauce and salt and toss well.
  • In a serving dish, arrange the sausages and top it with this onion mixture and serve immediately with some dinner rolls and butter.
