on December 16, 2015

Hello Foodies !! Well, Yes I know I have not posted anything since a while, But am gonna make up for all the lost days 😦 Its just that I got a new job and was really busy, so didn’t really have time to concentrate on my blog all the while, I will keep my blabber short today 😀 Here’s presenting my indo-chinese version of chilli chicken, This is my hubby’s most fav !! And I make it a point to cook this for him whenever he wishes to eat 🙂 Sweet wife ain’t I ? 😛

Here goes the recipe,

  • Chicken-1/2 kg boneless
  • Onion-1 diced
  • Capsicum-1 diced
  • Ginger Garlic (minced) – I used 5 cloves of garlic and 1/2 inch ginger
  • Soya Sauce-2 tsp
  • Egg – 1
  • Tomato ketchup -2 tbsp
  • Oyster Sauce – 1 tsp (optional)
  • Cornflour-2 tbsp+1 tsp
  • Green Chilli-4 chopped
  • Vinegar-1 tbsp
  • Red chilli pdr-2 tsp
  • Oil- 1 tbsp + for frying
  • Salt to taste
  • Marinate the chicken with a tsp of soya sauce, half qty of ginger garlic and oyster sauce, along with 1 tbsp of cornflour, egg and chilli powder. Let is stand for 1 hour.
  • Now fry the chicken pieces till light golden and drain on an absorbent paper. Set aside.
  • For the gravy, Heat oil in pan, Stir fry the diced onions for a min, now add the minced ginger garlic, green chillies and toss well, Mix in all the remaining sauces except vinegar, and a little water to make a gravy. Check the salt.
  • Now add the fried chicken pieces and capsicum and let is simmer for about 3 mins.
  • Dissolve the remaining cornflour in water to make a slurry, and pour it into the gravy, simmer for 2 more mins until its thick, switch off the flame, add in the vinger, toss well and serve hot with fried rice or noodles !!!
