Bread Manchurian

“Bread Manchurian” Sounds quite different isn’t it 😉 Well my initial reaction was the same when I came across this recipe in my FB  food group “Amgele Randapakuda”. But trust me, the taste was so very delicious, I could hardly make out its bread once it was ready, This one’s a keeper recipe.. And am sure bread wont go in waste anymore 😉 Do give it a try, its absolutely gorgeous one 🙂

  • Bread – 4 slices (I used brown bread)
  • Cornflour – 3 tbsp
  • Onions – 1 big or 2 medium  (Finely chopped)
  • Garlic cloves – 6 (Roughly chopped)
  • Ginger-garlic paste – 2 tsp
  • Ginger – 1 inch piece (chopped)
  • Green chilli -2 (chopped)
  • Tomato ketchup – 3tbsp
  • Soy sauce- 1 tbsp
  • Chilli powder – 1 tbsp (You can increase this based on your spice level)
  • Coriander leaves- to garnish
  • Salt
  • Oil for frying


  • Cut the bread into cubes. Make a paste with cornflour,salt, chilli powder, ginger garlic paste and water.
  • Dip the bread cubes in cornflour batter and deep fry. Drain on an absorbent paper.
  • Heat oil in a pan and add onions and fry till translucent, next add the chopped ginger, garlic and green chillies and fry for another minute
  • Now And add the salt, Tomato ketchup, soy sauce and about 1/3 cup of water, Stir well and add fried bread pieces, Toss until the bread is properly coated in the sauce, Serve hot, garnishes with coriander leaves.
