Lahsun and Rice Thepla

on June 18, 2015

I love Gujarathi food !! Been eating it since childhood, as some of our family friends were gujarathi’s, I find all their dishes very very delicious !! And Thepla is my all time favorite. The best part is you don’t need anything to go with it, you can have it as it is, This is a twisted version of thepla which uses rice, I decided to make it since I had some leftover rice with me, And the quantity was perfect to make this 🙂 Go on and try this, Healthy and delicious !!

  • Whole wheat flour – 2 cups
  • Rice – 1 cup (Mashed well)
  • Garlic paste – 1tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
  • Coriander leaves – 1/4 bunch, chopped finely
  • Oil – 4tbsp + to roast

  • In a mixing bowl add all the ingredients and form a dough adding a little water, same like how you make a chapati dough, But this dough is little softer.
  • Roll out the theplas and roast on a tawa until its golden on both sides,
  • Serve hot with any gravy, yoghurt and pickle !!
