Chilli Paneer With Gravy

on April 7, 2015

Last night, We craved for some chinese food !! So I ended up making paneer šŸ˜› Well I just need a reason to cook paneer šŸ˜‰ This one’s a very simple and my version of chilli paneer.
You can follow the same version for mushroom and gobi as well, Tastes good šŸ™‚ I always add oyster sauce while making chinese food becauseĀ I love the zing that we get in food when we add the oyster sauce, However its optional and you can skip it if you dont want to, Makes no much difference in the taste šŸ™‚
So here’s the recipe, Enjoy !!
  • 200 gms paneer/cottage cheese
  • 2 tbsp corn flour/corn starch
For the sauce

  • Ginger – 1/2 inch piece chopped finely
  • Garlic – 6 cloves (chopped finely)
  • Capsicum – 1 (diced)

  • salt as required
  • Spring onion greens for garnish
  • Add 2 tbsp of cornflour to the paneer and toss in a bowl.
  • Now fry the paneer pieces till golden brown and set aside.
For the sauce
  • heat oliveĀ oil, now add the diced onionsĀ and stir fry till they become transparent.
  • Add the ginger-garlic and stir fry till the raw smell disappears.
  • Now add the carrot and fry till it is slightly cooked.
  • Next, add theĀ capsicum and green chilies and stir fry till the capsicum is half cooked.
  • Now add the soy sauce, vinegar and oyster sauce and give a quick toss.
  • Add 2 cups of water, salt, pepper powder and sugar and mix well.
  • Now, add cornflour paste. stir well and let the sauce thicken.
