Chilli Paneer

Hello Foodies !! My first post of the year, And yeah !! Its paneer šŸ˜› Had a sudden craving for paneer yesterday, and something in “Chinese style” was in my mind. Of course, Google Bhai came to a great help and I found this lovely recipe. I just altered it according to my taste, The dish was very restauranty kind šŸ™‚ And we really enjoyed it. So here goes the recipe !! I hope you guys like it too šŸ™‚
  • Paneer : 200 gms (Diced)
  • Onion – 1 large sliced
  • Capsicum / Bell Pepper – 1 largeĀ sliced
  • Garlic -8 cloves chopped finely
  • Ginger – 2 inchĀ piece chopped finely
  • Green Chilli – 3 (slitted)
  • Salt to taste
  • Sugar – 1 tsp
  • Tomato ketchup – 2 tbsp
  • Red Chilli Sauce – 1 tbsp
  • Green Chilli Sauce (I used jalapeno) – 1 tbsp
  • Oyster sauce – tbsp
  • Soy Sauce – 2 tsp
  • Vinegar – 1 tsp
  • Pepper powder – 2 tsp
  • Spring OnionĀ greens – For garnish
For Frying:
  • All Purpose Flour / Maida – 3 tblspn
  • Corn Flour / Corn Starch – 6 tblspn
  • Salt to taste
  • Sugar – 1/2 tsp
  • Soy Sauce – 1 tsp
  • Water as needed
  • Oil for frying
  • Heat oil in a pan. Take all the ingredients given for frying in a bowl, add in water and make it to slightly thin batter. Dip the paneer in the batter and fry till golden.Ā Drain on a absorbent paper
  • Mix all the sauces in a bowl and set aside.
  • Now take about 1 tbsp of oil in a pan, Ā Saute the onions slightly till translucent.
  • Add the garlic and the ginger chopped and fry for a min more.
  • Now add the capsicum and roughly toss for like 30 sec (It should not be cooked fully)
  • Add in salt, pepper powder, sugar and mix well. Add the sauces mixture with half a cup of water and simmer for 2 mins.
  • Add the fried paneer and toss.
  • Garnish with spring onion greens

Ā Note : If you want to make it as a gravy, add a little more water. And add the cornflour (About 1tbsp mixed with water) to adjust the thickness of the sauce.
