Dulce de leche Cheesecake

Dulce de leche is a delicious caramel-like candy made from milk and sugar that’s popular in many South American countries. It’s called confiture de lait in French, and doce de leite in Portuguese, No matter what your language, this is a tasty treat to spread on toast, layer into pies and ice cream, or eat straight, one spoonful at at time.

I made a simple cheesecake and spread the dulce mixture on top it, Which tasted divine, I hope you guys will enjoy making it too 🙂


  • 3/4 cup finely ground digestive biscuit crumbs
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons white sugar
  • 225 gms cream cheese
  • 1/3 cup white sugar
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream, whipped


  • In a bowl, mix together crushed digestive buiscuits with melted butter and the 3 tablespoons sugar.
  • Press into a 7 inch springform pan. Place in refrigerator until ready for use.
  • In another bowl, beat cream cheese, 1/3 cup of sugar and lemon juice.
  • Whip cream, and fold into cream cheese mixture.
  • Spread into pan.
  • Place in refrigerator for about 4 hours until it is set, Then spread the dulce de leche mixture on top and then freeze again for another 2 hours.

Recipe for Dulce de leche

  • Take a 5 litre pressure cooker and put a sealed can of milkmaid in it and immerse it fully in water.
  • Put on a high flame, and after the first whistle, lower the gas and let it cook for another 20 min with whistle on.
  • After 20 min, switch off the gas, The dulce will continue cooking. let the cooker cool completely.
  • Then remove the tin out, and let the tin cool fully. Dulce de leche is ready to use
